TUPD will Host a Campus Safety Awareness

event, which is part of National Campus Safety Awareness Month, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, outside of the Witt Center. TUPD will be giving away cop corn and safety brochures. Register your bike during the month of September and your name will be placed in a drawing for a free KRYPTONITE U Lock.

Rule Number Nine

“Students of the opposite sex are strictly forbidden all communication with each other of every kind; and they are considered under this rule from the time of their arrival at the University until they leave.” Trinity University Catalogue 1893-1894. Students routinely circumvented the rule by surreptitiously passing notes and by “accidentally” meeting at secluded places on Sunday afternoon walks. Faculty dropped the rule from the Catalogue in 1899.
